*A SEXY standalone romantic comedy*
One look from Jax Stade promises to land even the nicest girl onto the naughty list.
Jax and I used to be best friends right up until he broke my heart. Everyone knows that both Jax and his overinflated ego are well beyond naughty—that face, those eyes, don’t get me started on that body made of steel. Every last part of me is bent on revenge. I’ll make sure payback is hell for Jax. I just hope I don’t end up getting my heart crushed by him twice in one lifetime.
Jax and I were inseparable growing up—since then our careers buffered us, but our mothers are still very much best friends. They’ve spent their whole lives trying to push us together—not to mention humiliating us by way of popping up at dances and doing the Macarena, showing up at football games wearing little more than curlers and bathrobes. Mortifying us to their own delight was their specialty. That might be ancient history, but we still bear the scars. So, when I pop back into town, Jax and I devise a scheme of our own to prank the pranksters. We’ll pretend we’re the real deal, right up until the day of our mothers’ shared big birthday bash, and then we’ll pull the pin on this faux-couples grenade.
Not only will we get even with our meddlesome mothers, but I’ll get to exact a little revenge on the boy who split my heart in two. Yes, I will most certainly get even—and just maybe a little bit naughty. With Jax Stade around, naughty is inevitable.

If there’s one thing I an count on it’s that I will enjoy every book that I read by Addison Moore.  She’s got the unique ability to write fantasy, contemporary, and romance books and make them all feel like that’s the only thing she does.  This book was everything I imagined it would be…sweet, humorous, romantic, and just a touch naughty.  It’s one of those stories that you read more quickly than you expect to because the characters are wonderful and the story line is fun.

Jax and Poppy get a second chance at romance when they’re reunited in a plot to fool their mothers (who have been desperate to get them together for years).  We get to hear the story from both of their points of view which makes it clear how much they are in love, and how each is a bit nervous about the prospect of taking that chance.  As the prank continues, their shields begin to crumble and their chemistry explodes.  I enjoyed their banter and their romance.  There’s never a doubt that they love each other, that everyone wants them together…and that eventually they’ll give in to the obvious.  But following their road to happiness is a fun journey.

I’ve said this over and over again, an author who can build strong secondary characters is one who’ll win my heart every time.  In this book we have an over the top family, mothers who are huge pranksters, and some very interesting friends to fall in love with.  They’re well developed and add so much to the story.  I would definitely like to see some of them get their own books in the future as well.  I think this could be a fun series.

Overall, this was a quick and enjoyable read.  I loved the humor and, of course, the romance.  Poppy and Jax are a great couple and a wonderful addition to my Addison Moore bookshelf!
